1) now I'm sick. Making
GOTV calls got old fairly quickly. Not a lot of people were home in Colorado anyway.
2) I really enjoyed the afternoon on Saturday at Sandy Spring Adventure Park. I'm also fairly sure I'm still feeling that rather than Sunday's acroyoga. Although one really cool thing on Sunday is that it turns out it is yet another thing I can get someone from 0 to beginner despite not being too much more than a beginner myself. I also managed a couple new hard things, like side star.
3) at the Adventure Park, I'll say that getting across the element where I had to walk on essentially the handles of hanging nightsticks was...nontrivial. and bruised my arms.
4) I'm getting a lot better at realizing I can negotiate time. Saturday my companion noted a rediscovery of fear of heights and a twinging knee after we'd only gone on one of the runs, with several hours left on our tickets. When Six Flags had been an option he had said he would be happy to peoplewatch, so I asked whether he would be up for watching from the ground on one more run. As it turned out, he and I did the green run, then I did the blue by myself, having asked many times to make sure that would be okay. And the next day, I negotiated both a walk and the acro, with J wandering off for a time and coming back.
5) Learned: wow, there is a lot of butter on /everything/ at a Japanese Steak House (the kind with the grill at the table.) Also? I think I got an inkling of what it's like to be an introvert with extraverts trying to get one to converse -- I dunno if maybe our chef wanted to practice his English, and it might have been partly that he initially forgot to make the shrimp so he was there longer, but he kept asking questions of everyone, and he was behind the fan and the sizzle and a thick accent, so periodic "hey do you like blackberry?" when I've not been paying attention to whatever the heck he said to the rest of the table, and I guess they were talking phones? We were done eating before he finally went away and I found myself repeatedly wondering if there was a way to tell him to leave me alone. Maybe I was also starting to be getting sick.
