Noted just before my shade made its exit and it became fairly difficult to see MrMac's screen at all well (admittedly because it is covered in gunk):t's a little disturbing that today is 8/15 and I'm finding the breeze on my arms chilly. I also could have done with more than 5 hrs sleep but that's when they started testing the building fire alarms, which is why I'm up by the Safeway. I think the alarms will stop around noon. Unfortunately the dentist appointment a bit after 1 precludes going back to bed.
A bit of a vignette from my evening last night, which was part of getting to bed around 4 and not in a great state, although some of the other parts included a nice time getting a few dances in and having a good time talking about dance stuff, but that was so very needed because not only was I in a State trying to think about the training job thing, but the folks I had dinner with immediately thereafter tried to be Helpful and asked me not only about that, but what I wanted to do in my life and a few other really stressful subjects like Mom. So I was feeling stressed about the conversations and guilty about being a downer and I couldn't figure out how to leave, but fortunately people were still at Angles when I got there, and perhaps I'll even read the positive thinking book.
[in reply to someone commenting that any night involving AAA sounds stressful] Especially since the car coasted to its "yeahno" only about 25 min walk from home. Except not somewhere with a shoulder. The officer eventually had the idea of turning it back on and seeing if it would get to the tidal basin lot entrance; it almost made it and he pushed it the rest of the way. I'm not entirely sure if by giving me his name and the phone # for the park police barracks he was indicating interest or what... Basically, the temperature gage on MomCar, which I've been driving this week, is in the same position as my fuel gage on the Camry.
Here, I'll also include the buzzfeed link
full of star wars amusements.
Turns out that the National Gallery is one of the museums with summer hours. Air&Space and Natural History and American History are open til 7:30 daily; Nat'l Gallery is open til 7 daily except Friday when they're open til 9:30 after the jazz in the Garden. Which will be a swing band tomorrow, Doc Scantlin's Palmettos. I'm thinking to try to get there before going up to
Tis Pity She's A Whore.
What would you say if someone asked you "what were you like when you were 5 or 6, what did you like doing?" What would you say if someone asked you "what was your first memory?"
Running out of battery. And need to get on the road before too long, so have to go home to do that.
