Got back from the drs appt an hour ago, and the parking lot was empty. Seems all nonessential feds got sent home at noon.
Have to do my timesheet and biweekly status. Whee?
(Also, happy: Got email back from DCJCC that 1) sure, go direct to Falls Church and 2) there's one other person so far signed up.
Got anybody you can convince?)

A Doctor's Mammogram Experience Turns Personal.
Another good article:
Patient 1 Society 0, about a guy who calls his doc and demands a head CT, like, today, and she's pretty sure it sounds like migraines, and so he goes to the ER and manages to get what he wants, in the most costly way.
Semirelatedly, I was asked the other day about my company's health benefits, and how they stacked against my prior company, and I mentioned the annoying Rx plan* and how much I spent on abx in Oct & Nov. He told me I shoudla come to him - he has all manner of abx floating around at home. Buh? "oh, I know my body and when I'm better. I keep the rest until a year and throw away - I hate taking abx." TWITCH. Aiee. I decided, for political reasons, to suppress my urge to tell him, Good God You're Going To Kill Us All! 'specially as it's really the livestock abx use that'll really take that forward.
More related to the above, I now have an admonition to take the mucinex already, and I have an Rx for a zpack that I'm debating filling. Or I guess I could fill it and see whether, come morning, I really do have sinus ick. Again. My pharmacy won't fill something I fax to them, even if I bring the original to pick up. How nice.
Feeling far better than earlier todya. Hot liquids for the win.
Oh, one more health link:

*$50 deductable before up to $75 copay at pharmacy if they dislike the brand enough; no love for the $100 deductable on er visits, not like I make a practice of them. But this is the more expensive plan offered..
