Please tell me I wasn't too rash. D=

Some guy flamed, well, not really, a fic that I'm currently reading. Okay, the fic wasn't great but the flame was one of those "OH NOES, YOU MADE MY FAVORITE CHARACTER GAY! FANGIRLS NEED TO BURN IN HELL." ...Well it was actually:

"RED IS NOT GAY! Why the hell do you fangirls think he is and pair nim up with a bunch of other not gays? Stupid fangirls."

My response:

Hi. ...First thing's first, I'm not trying to pick a fight, I'm just trying to reinforce my opinion and keep some peace.

I just saw your review for Crimson Love and... well, that just rubbed me the wrong way. Normally I would ignore it and walk away, but you called the author a fangirl? If you actually took the time to look, the author is a guy. Gay, yes, but he is a guy. You shouldn't lump all the BL fans together as "fangirls" even though the majority of them are. I admit, we fangirls are dumb and we suck for making obviously not gay people gay, but if you don't like it, just walk away. No amount of flaming us is going to make us stop anyway. (And uh, to be honest, his fic needs lots of improvement, even though it has some potentional. I'm afraid your random flame might put him off and that just makes me sad. You're ruining something that I enjoy. D=)

And about the "Red not being gay" thing. Sure, okay, the boy doesn't actually have a preference, his game is about capturing and battle pokemon and Smash Brothers is about fighting. No where does it say that he's in a relationship with a girl, but neither does it say that he's interested in any romantic relationship. So your statement about him not liking guys can also go for him not liking girls. It's a double edge statement. *shrug* Same goes for all the other characters in Smash Brothers or any other fandom.

I'm usually not fazed by those kinds of things, but if it happens to a friend or something, I have to speak up. ...Not that the author is a friend or anything, but he's been bugging me about his other fics and asking me to look at his Youtube account (which he didn't even provide me a link for, real smart genius...) and I've been helping him with his Pit/Red fic, I guess I feel a sense of duty to stick up for him.

stupid idiots, fandom rants
