I went to Buffalo Wild Wings after work. It was apparently Karaoke night (in addition to cheap wings night). This proved to make the evening less than enjoyable for everyone concerned. I wrote a version of what happened that displays the night in a more positive light:
The song 'You Spin Me Right Round' came up on the playlist.
Stefan said "Oh no" as soon as the song came on. I grinned, knowing exactly what he was thinking and said "My mere presence perverts the thoughts of those around me."
Stefan laughed and said "Oh Meatspin."
Jani mentioned that the song was in the trailer for an Alvin and the Chipmunks movie, and that's all he could think of when the song played. Stefan jokingly called him gay for liking Alvin and the chipmunks, then proceeded to tell us how all he could think of when the song played was Meatspin.
"You're calling Jani gay… and yet…" I said
"Oh just because I watched it long enough to see the 'YOU ARE NOW OFFICIALLY GAY' message flash onto the screen."
"Oh see I didn't even know that. Now you are just telling me ." I replied, not having to add 'that you're gay' to the end of the sentence. We both laughed.
Later, near the end of the song, Stefan spoke to the loud music, "You're song is very repetitive, much like a skipping record. Is that what you were going for?"
The next song that came up was made popular by YTMND.
"Wait…" Stefan pondered, "I know this song!"
Jani, who is very familiar with YTMND said "Oh yeah! It's from YTMND! it's the song for … Gay Fuel!"
The three of us laughed, "That makes sense for the previous song!" I commented.
The next song was a poorly done remix of 'You Spin me Right Round.' Stefan and I both noticed right away and I said "This is like the straight version of 'You Spin Me Right Round.'"
"Isn't that an oxymoron?" Stefan replied.
After a bit, the song returned to the chorus of the original song, and Jani noticed for the first time that it was a remix. "I thought you were joking!" he said to me.
I just smiled, "Oh I was, but now you are realizing that my joke was a bit better than you thought."
During the entire dinner, Jonas would occasionally denounce the Furry Fandom in front of the two college-age football-fans right next to our table whenever I brought it up. Shaun, Stefan and I continued to imply that he was a dumbass whenever we thought he wasn't listening.
Stefan would say it the loudest, and Jonas kept saying, "I'm just feeling all this negative energy from you, Stefan!"
I corrected him, "Oh Stefan isn't calling you a dumbass. All three of us are!"
"All this negative energy channeled through Stefan." Jonas corrected himself.
Eventually, Stefan amended his actions by singing 'Night and Day' from Always Sunny in Philadelphia with Jonas.
