Mulan blinked and then giggled softly, faltering slightly as she picked up a new slice of pizza. Bart looked on with a playful grin, waiting until she calmed before attempting a fake pout.
"I'm telling you, it was rabid or something! Kept trying to get my ankles whenever I stopped!"
"It'd be pretty bad," the Chinese heroine mused, taking a delicate nibble of her slice laden with pepperoni and cheese. "If an otter did you in."
"What if it was a mutant otter?"
"With laser beam eyes?"
"And super sharp teeth! Made out of diamonds! He'd also have a battle cry, something really loud and angry -- like a yodel!"
Mulan dropped her slice, burying her face in the speedster's shoulder as laughter over took her. Bart just grinned, taking a bite out of his fifth slice as he relished in the lyrical sound of her amusement. Night's like these after patrol were always good. Everyone was alive and they could laugh over a pizza or six. Best shift ever. He hoped tomorrow would be just as good.
