Well, Becci and I are still looking for a house. We thought we found one we liked, but they took it off the market. So .... we're back to weighing our other options. We were originally scheduled to move out of the parsonage Feb 1. Not going to happen. Maybe March 1st?
I am currently launching a recruitment campaign for family groups, prayer warriors, and a youth ministry council for our jr. and sr. high students. Sometime today or tomorrow I will send out close to 100 letters regarding these areas of growth and ministry. Sweet! I'm excited about these things and anxious to see how God will bless this youth ministry through these areas.
Beginning March 4th our church is going to two Sunday morning worship services. Things might get really chaotic then, but I don't expect so. I am interested to see how it works out and how the congregation responds to the different services. Hopefully we will be implementing some various styles of worship music in the two services.
Youth band is kickin' into high gear. I made it a goal to have them play atleast once a month this year. Then they were asked to play every week for JAM, our midweek program for 3yrs - 5th grade. That should be interesting. We have a couple coffee houses booked in Feb and Mar. Actually, we're playing on St. Patrick's Day, so that should be a lot of fun.
Becci and I spent the weekend at Lake James Christian Assembly for Sr. High Winter Retreat. We had 7 sr high students attend with us and it was a good weekend. Not really relaxing, though, considering the average bedtime of the dorms was around 1:30am. On Sunday we had two hours between our return from camp and the arrival of 15 jr high students for Jr. High Fun Night!! Sounds like a tiring schedule, but the fun night was a lot of ... fun ... lol. Then I slept in on monday and basically took the day off.
That's about enough to keep a guy busy. Aside from that I beat Warioland on Nintendo Gameboy last night. Or atleast I think I beat it. When I turned it on this morning it was still saved as if I didn't, but last night I saw the credits rolling and all that "end of a video game story" stuff. So we'll see. To be continued ...
I think I am going to get tickets for the Michigan State vs. Wisconsin basketball game at East Lansing on Tues Feb 20. Go Spartans!
