Well, yesterday was St. Patrick's Day and I did dress up like a leprechaun. It was a lot of fun and people seemed to enjoy it. In the afternoon Mark Paget, who hails from Ireland, and I went over to Becci's 2nd grade classroom to have a little St. Patty's Day fun. I didn't wear my leprechaun outfit at first. We talked about leprechauns and St. Patrick and told our stories of hunting and encountering leprechaun's. Then Mark took them on a hunt to find a leprechaun (me) and it was a lot of fun. Dang, 2nd graders are fast! They got me pot o' gold, too.
After that, Mark and I went for Shamrock shakes at McD's. He was wearing and Irish flag as a cape by the way. When we walked in the girl at the counter burst out, "Whoa, hahahaha, what are you guys dressed up for?" "It's St. Patrick's Day," I said. Then she asked why Mark was wearing an Irish flag, "Are you from Ireland or something?" His accent then revealed that he was to which she responded, "HAhahahahAHAhahah! Oh my gosh! That makes me so happy!" What a wierdo. Mark got a kick out of it.
And now ... more from the chronicles of Rock Jaw:
The magic continued when I accompanied Rock Jaw Kylman and Becci to Bennigans for dinner. Not only did we hear Van Halen's "The Cradle Will Rock" while we waited, I also witnessed the most magical feat of the evening. Joe got a free Bennigans baseball cap without finishing his Big Irish burger, which he was supposed to in order to win the hat in the first place. Perhaps it was the power of the Rock Jaw. Perhaps it was Sisu's fresh supply of fortitude from St. Urho's Day (March 16th) - the patron St. of Finland. Whatever it was, one thing is for sure - on St. Patrick's Day 2006, Rock Jaw Sisu Fertelli won more than a pot of gold . . . . he won a baseball cap from Bennigans. Congratulations.
