I wish I could write you a melody so plain
That would hold you, dear lady, from going insane
And ease you and cool you and cease the pain
Of your useless and pointless knowledge. --Dylan, "Tombstone Blues"

That's OK, Bob. I rather enjoy my useless and pointless knowledge.

Tonight's tidbits:

No. 78: 1 in 18 people has a third nipple.

But since the related story says that these third nipples can look like freckles or moles, what I want to know is, how can the doctors tell?

I have the very same impulse! Am I the one in 18 and never knew it?

I'm not sure I've ever seen one of those...well, I have seen things that kind of look like they might've once tried to be nipples but never quite got the hang of it.

I've known several people who claimed to have one or two. They usually lay very close to the real ones and were vaguely the same colour. But not extremely nipply, really.

It weighed as much as a man--160 to 200 lbs.--and had a wingspan of 25 feet.

I was just discussing with Chuck how big an angel's wings would have to be, and that was almost spot on. Of course some angels are a bit on the heavier side, and so have a wider span. I think I read that somewhere *grin*

Excellent news! I am having a wonderful, productive day, the sun in actually SHINING, and illustrations for the fic are now in full swing! Whoo-hoo!

Not that angels are really bound by the laws of physics, of course. ;)

I believe I read that somewhere too! And there's no cause for them to go being all gloaty about it. ;)

The particular tidbit about the Teratorn is also of interest to Tolkien fen looking for insights about Gwaihir and his folk.

Squee!
