Summary: Sakura is not like the usual people that Kakashi is used to.
The first time I saw her she was standing in the park painting. She had set up a little area for herself, displaying her artwork to the people walking by in hopes that someone would stop and buy a painting. I never did see anyone buy one of her paintings, and I have been watching her for months, and yet she still stood there in the park everyday painting. Thinking about it now, she must have been doing it for the joy of painting and not for money since she never sold anything and didn’t seem to mind either way.
That must have been what attracted me to her and what made me talk to her. In the end I’m glad that I did. It was so unusual to see someone not obsessed with money and power in this city. I wonder what she saw in me. Whatever it was we started dating soon after that. It went well for a few months but then the usual happened. She wanted to know more about me but there are just some things that I won’t share with people for their own safety. Usually the women leave shortly after but she’s still here, still painting.
I look over at the finished canvas. It’s a very beautiful painting of a view of the sunset from a stone bridge. “Kakashi,” I hear her whisper my name. “Let’s go home.” She’s very unusual.
