Summary: Lettuce realizes what love is.

At thirteen years old Lettuce realized that she was a lesbian. At first she was scared. She didn’t know how her parents or her new friends would take it. So she didn’t say anything.

At fourteen Lettuce realized what love was. She had fallen and she had fallen hard. The worse thing about it was that she had fallen for her friend and she knew that she could never say anything. She would never ruin their friendship.

At fifteen Zakuro had found her in the bathroom crying. She didn’t say anything. Instead she just held the younger girl close to her and let her cry. It was the first time Lettuce had seen Zakuro showing any real emotion even after all these years of being friends. They all knew that Zakuro cared about them but the older girl never actually showed it.

When Lettuce had managed to stop sobbing she asked Zakuro why she held her. “Because I know what it’s like to love someone that you can never have.” That was the first time Lettuce had ever been kissed.

At sixteen Lettuce was shopping for her girlfriend of one year when Mint kissed her. She had confessed to having always loved Lettuce. Lettuce was feeling a mix of guilt, confusion, and… happiness. The girl she had always loved from afar was in love with her and wanted to be with her.

When Zakuro found out she was not as angry as Lettuce had imagined that she would be. Somehow Lettuce knew that Zakuro had always loved Mint as well, but she also knew that the older girl had also developed feelings for her as she had for Zakuro over the year. Lettuce didn’t want to lose either of them.

Now at seventeen Lettuce could not be happier because she got to wake up every morning next to two beautiful girls that she loved very much.
