Summary: Hiroto wants to see the big Christmas Tree in Tokyo and forces Shou to go with him.
“Hiroto!” Shou exclaimed, but the other man was not listening. “Slow down.”
“Hurry up, Shou,” Hiroto said as he took his boyfriend’s hand and pulled him through the crowd.
“Hiroto, what is the hurry? It’s only a tree,” Shou said.
“It’s not just a tree,” Hiroto said. He tugged harder on Shou’s arm as they pushed through the crowd of people until they were standing in front of Tokyo’s Christmas tree. It was tall and covered in so many lights that it barely looked like a tree. A huge crowd of both young and old, families and couples were gathered around it.
Hiroto was staring up at the tree with delight in his eyes and a grin on his face. Shou glared at him before roughly pulling his arm out of Hiroto’s grasp. The other man did not even flinch. He was too engrossed in the Christmas tree. Shou looked up at the tree. He had to admit that it was beautiful and… bright. Then he looked over at Hiroto. Shou could not help but chuckle a little.
Hiroto heard him and turned to look at Shou. “What?”
“Nothing,” Shou answered. “So why is it so important that we see the tree tonight?” Shou asked.
Hiroto smiled. “I used to dream about coming here every Christmas when I was a child,” Hiroto said. “Of course, my parents always said no.” Hiroto chuckled. “One time I even threw a fit because they would not take me. I think I was five at the time. My father got so angry.”
Shou smiled. “Well, you can be difficult to deal with.”
“Hey!” Hiroto exclaimed causing Shou to laugh.
“But…” Shou moved closer to his boyfriend and took the other’s hand. “I still love you.”
Hiroto felt a shiver run up his spin when Shou said those three words to him. Shou was grinning at him. Hiroto smiled back before leaning in closer and placing a gentle kiss on Shou’s lips. “Love you too,” he whispered.
Shou squeezed Hiroto’s hand. “Are you happy that you got to see your tree?”
“Very happy,” Hiroto answered.
“Good,” Shou said. “Then let’s go home, and I will make us some hot tea.”
Hiroto nodded. “Sounds good to me.”
