They say that if you make a wish upon a shooting star your wish will come true. Well, whoever said that was a liar because if it were true, then he would be here right now. He promised. He promised me that in the end he would be here by my side. He promised me that night as we lay together on a blanket in the grass, under the sky. He promised on that shooting star that he would be here, that it was not going to be forever.
Namine closed her eyes. She could feel her body growing weaker by the second. Her breaths came in short pants, and she could feel herself losing sense of reality. She could feel her body sinking into darkness, leaving this world. She was hopping to see him one last time before she was gone forever.
He was not there. He did not make it in time. He had broken his promise to her and in doing so had broken her heart and killed her.
