Gackt pushed the last button through and shook his arms. Brushing off his shoulders Gackt looked at himself in the mirror. He admired his fine clothes and his good looks. It was important for him to look good, after all he had his image to keep. Everyone in the whole town, the whole state, knew Gackt. He was a businessman and was very, very wealthy. Everyone also knew that he was alone, not married. Rumors circled around that he was gay, had a secret mentally ill wife that he kept locked up, or even that he was married to his favorite horse Belle. Whatever the case may be the fact still remained that Gackt was single and every lady want him, or rather wanted his money. Gackt was always surround by tons of beautiful, and not so beautiful, ladies of all shapes and sizes.

Gackt pushed out the balcony doors and stepped out. He looked across his vast amount of land and the beautifully planted trees and flowers that adorned it. “What is this?” Gackt inquired as he noticed a carriage pulling up to the mansion next door. “Roger, hand me my binoculars please.” Gackt’s personal assistant known only as Roger handed the golden binoculars to him. Gackt took them and held them up to his eyes.

“Well, what do we have here?” Gackt watched as a young handsome man was escorted out of the carriage. Even though he was wearing a dress Gackt could tell that he was a man. Being around hundreds of women just throwing themselves at you gives you an advantage at being able to tell who was a man and who was a woman. The man had long red hair that was tied up in a lose bun with a few strands falling against his face. Must be from a long travel, Gackt thought. “I looks as if we have a new neighbor,” Gackt said as he turned to face Roger. Roger only nodded. “Shall we go meet them?”

“I want to make an impression,” Gackt stated. “I know! I shall take Belle with me.”

“Belle!” Gackt exclaimed as he opened up the gate to retrieve his prized horse. The beautiful mare came towards him with ease and relaxation. “That’s a girl,” Gackt said petting her as the young stable boy got to work preparing her for riding. When she was ready Gackt brought her outside and got on. “Shall we go and say good morning to our new neighbors now Belle?” With that the two rode off over the grass.

“Hello there!” Gackt called out to the beautiful young man and the woman standing besides him. “Good Morning I am GaAAA-” Belle came to a sharp stop in front of a bush throwing Gackt off of her and screaming into the said bush.

“Oh my! Are you alright?” The young man asked rushing over to Gackt’s side.

Gackt looked up from his injured arm. “I-” He lost all ability to speak when he saw that beautiful face in front of him. Gackt felt himself getting lost in those eyes.

“Oh my!” A woman’s voice said. “Shinya you should take him inside and take care of that wound.”

The beautiful man nodded. “Yes Auntie Marie.” He reached out to help pull Gackt out. “Let’s get you inside and cleaned up,” He said with a tiny smile.

Gackt was still speechless nevertheless he follows Shinya inside. “No where is- Oh! Thank you Ann,” Shinya said taking the bandages and medicine from a young servant girl’s hands. “Why don’t you come have a seat in here Mr…”

“Camui. Gackt Camui.”

Shinya nodded. “Mr. Camui, please have a seat.”

“Please, just call me Gackt,” Gackt said as he took a seat.

“May I?” Shinya asked politely. Gackt nodded and removed his shirt so that Shinya could have access to his arm. Gackt could not help but notice how Shinya was looking at his body, but Shinya was not the kind of person to be disrespectful even if he did find his mind wondering off from time to time, and he quickly turned his attention to the injured arm. He washed it out with water and then applied some medicine, which gave Gackt a little sting making him clench his teeth. Finally he tied a cloth bandage around the arm. “That should do it,” Shinya said tying up the loose ends of the bandage.

Before Shinya could remove his hands from Gackt’s arms Gackt placed a hand over them. “Thank you, Shinya,” He leaned in and whispered. Shinya could feel his face heating up at the feel of Gackt’s breathe on his lips and his hand on his own hands.

“You are most welcomed.”

“You might not want to go riding for a few days,” The woman, Auntie Marie, said.

“Ah yes, I don’t suppose I will be getting back on a horse sometime soon,” Gackt said. “Well, it was a pleasure to meet you Shinya.” Gackt lifted Shinya’s hand up and kissed it. H stood up and walked over to the older woman. “It was a pleasure madam.” He kissed her hand as well out of respect.

“Oh!” The older woman blushed. “Have a safe journey home, and remember you are welcomed here any time young man,” she said. Gackt nodded and took his leave of the two.

From that moment on Gackt has greeted Shinya every morning.

“Shinya!”

“Ah, Gackt. I see you are not on your horse this morning.”

“As much as I enjoyed having someone as beautiful as you take care of me I cannot rely on a stranger’s compassion every day.”

Shinya blushed. “I hope you would come to consider me as a friend and not a stranger, or shall I start calling you Mr. Camui, if we are strangers it is only polite.”

“Shinya!”

“Good morning again Gackt.”

“Lovely weather, no?”

“There are so many clouds. You can barely see the sun!”

“Well…I like clouds. Do you like clouds Shinya?” Shinya laughed.

“Shinya!”

“Gackt?” Shinya questioned. “What are you doing out here in the pouring rain?”

“Rain?” Gackt laughed. “Oh! I did not notice.”

“Even I’m not crazy enough to be outside.”

“Ah, well a fool in love might do crazy things.” Shinya blushed at those words.

For weeks Gackt continued to greet and even take Shinya out on walks, and soon weeks turned into months.

“Sir Camui, you have a guest,” Roger said.

Gackt stood up and placed the book that he was reading down on the table. “A guest?” Gackt looked out the window. It was clearly dark out as shone by the millions of stars in the sky and the sound of crickets playing their familiar song. “Who would come at this hour? Nevertheless, show them in.” Roger bowed before leaving the room only to return a few seconds later with Shinya.

“Shinya!” Gackt exclaimed. “What a pleasant surprise. What brings you over so late at night?”

“I’m sorry to bother you Gackt but my Aunt has fallen ill. We still do not know many people and…”

“Say no more Shinya.” Gackt turned towards his servant. “Roger get the doctor on the phone. Shinya, I’m going back to your house with you.” Shinya nodded and lead the way across their yards.

“She’s upstairs in bed,” Shinya said. Gackt nodded then turned to the young man beside him.

“What about you? You look ill yourself.”

“Aye, ill with worry,” Shinya said looking down. “I do not know what I am going to do if something happens to her.”

“Don’t think like that. A lady should-”

“I am not a lady!” Shinya exclaimed looking up at Gackt with angry eyes.

Gackt was shocked but he relaxed and smiled at the young man. “I know.”

“You knew?” Shinya asked astonished.

Gackt nodded. “I figured there must have been a reason for it.”

“There is.” Shinya’s gaze fell to the floor once again.

Gackt stepped forward and gently lifted Shinya’s chin up. “If you would, I would like to hear about it.”

Shinya was hesitant for a moment. “Can I ask you something?”

“Anything,” Gackt whispered.

“Do you believe that it is a foolish thing for two men to love each other?”

Gackt shook his head. “Not at all. Love is love.”

A small smile appeared on Shinya’s face but it quickly disappeared as he continued. “My boyfriend didn’t think so.”

“I see…” Gackt leaned down and placed a soft quick kiss on Shinya’s lips taking the young man by surprise. “Your boyfriend was not a very intelligent person.”

Shinya raised an eyebrow at Gackt but then he smiled. “Yeah, he was kind of dumb.”

Gackt was about to say something else to Shinya when there was a knock on the door. “That must be the doctor,” Gackt said as he went to open up the door and sure enough it was the doctor.

“Hello, I am Mr. Johnson,” The doctor said bowing to Shinya. “Now where is the patient?” Shinya gave a polite bow before answering and leading them to his aunt’s room.

“Shinya?” The older woman coughed.

“Don’t worry Auntie. The doctor is here.”

The doctor placed his bag on the nightstand beside the bed. He opened his bag, reached in and pulled out a few tools before proceeding to examine the older women. Shinya stood there nervously watching and praying. Gackt saw this and took Shinya’s hand in his own to which Shinya responding by giving the hand a tight squeeze.

For the next hour they waited in the room while the doctor poked around and asked questions. Finally he packed up his bag, turned to Shinya and Gackt and said, “There’s nothing wrong with her?”

“Nothing wrong?” Shinya said shocked. In the background Auntie Marie groaned.

“Nothing. Unless it is some strange illness that no one knows about,” The doctor repeated.

“But…” Shinya was in shock.

“Now,” The doctor said pulling out a pen and paper. “Here is my bill.”

“I’ll take that,” Gackt said. The Doctor nodded and handed him the piece of paper. “Now, allow me to show you to the door.”

Shinya rushed over to his Aunt’s side. “Auntie Marie?” He whispered. The woman moaned from the bed and coughed a sort of hacking cough. Shinya pulled the blankets over her. “Just rest up Auntie.”

“Shinya,” she whispered.

“What is it?”

She beckoned for him to come closer. “I fear that I am dying.”

“Don’t say that,” Shinya whispered.

“The doctor does not know what’s wrong with me,” She whispered. “Please fulfill my wish, I want,” she paused a moment to cough again. “I want for you to be married.”

“Married?” Shinya exclaimed.

“Yes. I long to see you happy once more.” Again she paused to cough. “That young Mr. Camui seems to be taking a liking to you.” Shinya blushed. The older woman smirked. “Go after him,” She whispered. “For me?” Shinya looked at his sickly aunt lying there in bed, barely able to speak and coughing nonstop. He knew that he could not say no to her request.

“Shinya?” Gackt knocked on the door. “Is everything alright?”
Shinya leaned in and whispered, “I will Auntie Marie,” before turning around and smiling at Gackt. He walked over to the handsome man standing in the doorway, took hold of his hand and led him down the hall.

“Shinya? Are you feeling well?” Gackt asked, a little perplexed at the beautiful man’s unusual behavior.

Shinya led Gackt into another bedroom. Looking around the room appeared masculine and yet a little bit feminine. On the walls hung beautiful oil paintings of winter landscapes. There was a dark gothic bed in the middle of the room, a bookshelf adorned with a variety of books and a few candles to light the place up.

This is my room,” Shinya said. Gackt turned his attention to the man in front of him. Shinya was looking at him with emotional eyes that held a sense of fear in them.

“It’s lovely,” Gackt said not taking his eyes off of Shinya.

“I li
ke you Gackt,” Shinya said. Gackt was a little taken back by the words. “I mean it. You knew I was a man and yet you continued to show interest in me. I knew you why you where there every morning to greet me. It was because you like me, right?” Shinya looked up at him with those big eyes.

“Shinya,” Gackt whispered. “I believe I have fallen for you, and like I told you, love is love. I will not hide it.”

Shinya smiled at him. Then he leaned up and placed a quick shy kiss of Gackt’s lips. Gackt smiled while Shinya blushed and looked down. Clearly being in love again was hard for him. After his first love ended in such a way it was hard for Shinya to let himself fall in love again; he did not want to get his heart broken again.

Gackt took Shinya’s chin into his hand once more and lifted his face up. Then he leaned down and placed a long loving kiss on those soft tasty lips of his.

“Marry me Shinya.”

Shinya looked at him with wide eyes. “I…you….we…” Shinya was speechless.

“I promise to take care of you. I will never ever harm you.” Shinya looked around the room. Gackt gently took hold of his chin and turned his head. “Look at me,” He said. “I love you.” Shinya looked straight into Gackt’s blue eyes and he could see that he was telling the truth.

“Marry me Shinya.”

Shinya closed his eyes and took a deep breath. “Yes,” He said looking up at Gackt with tearful eyes and a smile on his face. “yes. I will marry you!” Gackt wrapped his arms around the other man and pulled him close to him in a tight embrace. Both men where smiling and crying tears of joy, after all, it was a wonderful thing to find real love.

That night the two lovers sleep in Shinya’s room.

“You better not try anything,” Shinya said.

“Shinya, what kind of a man do you take me for?” Shinya placed some extra pillows between the two of them. “Shinya!”

“I have to keep my maidenhood until our wedding night. If are a honest man then you will stay on that side of the bed.”

When he woke up the next morning Shinya found that the bed was empty. He sat up immediately thinking that Gackt had left him and fearing the worst.

“Good morning Shinya darling.” Shinya looked over. “I was just enjoying your fine book collection,” Gackt said closing a Charles Dickinson book and placing it down on the table. “You did not think I would leave you now, did you?” Shinya let out a sigh of relief. Gackt walked over to the bed and brushed a strand of hair out of Shinya’s face. “Shall we tell your aunt the good news?”

Shinya nodded. “She would be very happy to hear it.”

“Good then,” Gackt said. “At least she will have some good news before her time.” Shinya nodded. Gackt took his hand and walked down the hall with him. When they got to Auntie Marie’s room Shinya knocked before opening the door up.

“Auntie Marie?” Shinya asked. He was greeted by the sound of coughing. “I have something to tell you,” he said walking closer to the bed still holding Gackt’s hand. She looked up at him with sad sickly eyes. “Gackt and I are getting married.”

Suddenly a huge grin spread across her face. “Oh! I’m so happy for you two!” She exclaimed. Marie sat up and reaching over eloped the two lovers in a hug.

“Auntie Marie!” Shinya gasped. “You are sick. You should lay back down.”

“Oh.” She swatted her hand at Shinya as if he were a fly. “I am perfectly well.”

“But.” Shinya was once again at a lost for words.

She leaned in close to him with a devilish smirk on her face. “I was pretending so that you would get your ass in gear and finally accept Mr. Camui. He’s a fine man and I’m not going to allow you to let him go,” She winked.

“You mean… you are not ill?”

“Heavens no child!” The woman burst out in laughter. Gackt found this whole thing quite amusing and broke out into a little laughter himself.

“It’s not funny!” Shinya said.

“It is a little bit,” Aunt Marie answered.

Shinya looked over at his laughing fiancé. Gackt just shrugged with a grin on his face. “Okay,” Shinya said with a smile. “Maybe a little bit.”

Soon the sound of wedding bells could be heard. Everyone person that could make it attended the wedding, even people who Gackt had never meant before were there. Everyone wanted to see whom the mystery bride was, and every girl was jealous that someone had managed to win over Gackt’s heart, and of course his money.

Then Shinya appeared. He was wearing the most beautiful long white wedding gown. All eyes were on him. He looked just like a beautiful woman in his gown. Gackt had told him before they got married that he did not have to pretend to be a woman, however Shinya had shook his head and said that he did not mind. He said that he rather liked living as a lady and this way he would be protecting Gackt’s reputation. It was Shinya’s choice in the end to walk down the aisle wearing the white gown.

The two were married on a beautiful June day. Surprisingly it was not as hot out and there was actually a nice cool breeze blowing in the air. It was the perfect day for a perfect wedding.
