I’m finally getting around to making an entry about my wild, wonderful Christmas. I’ll make it brief because, to be honest, I’ve now forgotten many of the details.
I got a card from someone who says she is my “Secret Admirer”. This just a day after the fortune in my fortune cookie (Chinese takeout) stated, and I quote, “Your dynamic eyes have attracted a secret admirer”. The card stated, To the sweetest man I’ve ever met”.
Hmmmm….
I had a ton of presents brought to me to wrap for foster kids. I was amazed at how many were brought. I enlisted the help of my coworkers, who ended up wrapping everything for me. In the pic are Amy, Doreen, and Gina. I have great coworkers!
On the morning of Christmas Eve, I received a package from Tisha (tjoel2). It is far and away my favorite gift. She is so sweet and this gift rocks on every level! Here is a picture.
The evening of the 24th found me hanging out with my Mexican family. My special gift to Sarah, the matriarch of the family, was a shadowbox. Her brother was MIA for 58 years after a battle in Korea during that war. I made this really awesome shadow box that had images of Christmas cards sent by U.S. presidents over the years as well as pictures of him and other stuff. It came out really nice. My friend Susie, her daughter, had it beautifully gift wrapped. It was so pretty we hated to even open it! She cried when she opened the package and saw it. She was thanking me and telling me how much she loves me. I had to go play with the kids to avoid crying myself.
Speaking of the kids - you know Christmas really is for them. It was fun watching them open all of their gifts. Allie screamed with excitement when she unwrapped a present and saw it was a Snuggie. Man, those things are popular. Here she is with the Snuggie.
I was there until about 1:30 AM, a nice way to start my Christmas day. I was up at 7:00 AM on Christmas day.
The morning of the 25th found me at my adopted black family’s traditional Christmas morning breakfast. I think I ate more during that breakfast than I had at all of my breakfasts in 2009 combined. It was all just so good though. Yummy! The kids there were a lot of fun. My friend Toures has adopted several children. In the coming weeks, I’ll be taking the older ones out for a day of fun with Uncle Jim. We are all impatiently waiting that day.
The afternoon and night of Christmas found me at my parents’ house, and having dinner with my white family! We had a lot of fun. Blade and his family were there, making it a fun day.
More from me in entries to come soon. There’s been a whole lot going on lately. I’ll try to get everyone caught up in the next few days…after all, I know you can’t wait to hear everything! Hahaha. Right!
Until next year…
