Erik Stanley has been arrested in connection with the death of 27-year-old Jawana Henry.

Henry died December 4, 2010, at the South Beach Psychiatric Center on Staten Island. He reportedly bit two fellow patients that day.  Three employees, including Stanley, restrained him on the floor, after which Henry stopped breathing.

Medical examiners say Henry died of "asphyxiation due to chest and neck compression".

Stanley is charged with "criminally negligent homicide" and endangering a disabled person. He's pled not guilty.

Henry had lived at the center since late 2009. He stayed at his parents' home on weekends. His family had become concerned about his life at the center; his mother says Henry came home numerous times with injuries. She says South Beach personnel dismissed the family's concerns and told them things were fine there.
