023 [Event Action]

Apr 27, 2010 15:47

[Currently, the event is going on in full force, and Adell knows well and good he's affected by it.  But what he doesn't know is that thought bubbles can appear above your head even while you sleep.  Now, normally this would be a non-issue considering he normally doesn't nap and has his own room.  But a problem occurs; last night, he didn't get ( Read more... )

[Terra enters the barracks, checking to see if it's empty before she begins training. Normally, she wouldn't care, but lately, she's taken to being as reclusive as possible so as not to let people read her thoughts.

Upon seeing Adell snoozing, Terra backs away, intending to let him sleep. However, the images catch her attention and she...stares.]

[Terra is treated to a sequence of the Soaring Helldam staring down another giant robot, this one garishly decorated with tons of different colors and done up like a jester. Over the radio, loud shouting from Adell can be heard.

"You'll never get the power of the Overlord Helldam and you'll never hurt Terra either! Not while I still live and breathe!"

In response, there is the very familiar laugh of Kefka as he returns the barb.

"You hero types are so pathetic. The power of my Magister Helldam is far beyond your comprehension! And when it merges with the Overlord Helldam, nothing will stop me from becoming God of this World!

...No one ever said Adell was a good writer.]

[Terra doesn't understand most of the terms being thrown around, but she doesn't care. This is so interesting. And it's sweet of him to defend her from Kefka like that. Despite trying to be respectful of mind-reading, she figures another moment won't hurt and crouches near him, watching intently.]

["Never!"

And with that, the Soaring Helldam leaps forward, one of its mechanical fists glowing with red energy. It lashes out at the Magister Helldam, but deflects off an unseen barrier as it raises its hand.

A terse laugh is the answer. "Don't you see, boy? You have no hope. Being a Defender of Earth is little more than a farce. It's meaningless. Just like the very existance of this planet!" And then Kefka's voice turns from psychotic laughter to a very dark, menacing growl. "...And everyone on it."

And with that, the Magister Helldam's hand crackles with lightning and looks like it's about to unleash a torrent of lightning at Adell's mobile suit.]

[Engrossed in the strange deam, Terra jumps a little upon seeing the torrent of lightning streaking toward Adell.]

No!

[Oops, did she say that aloud?]

[Adell stirs lightly, but he's out like a light for now.][But before the lightning connects, there's a flash of blue energy around the Magister Helldam. The camera pans to Adell in the cockpit of his Soaring Helldam, and it focuses to what he can see ( ... )

[Relived that she hasn't awoken Adell, Terra nonetheless scoots back a bit so as not to risk it happening. The continuation of the dream makes her smile; she's always wanted something like that to happen in hers. Fighting Kefka alongside Adell is something she wishes they will one day do, anyway. Though it is admittedly flashier with giant robots....]

[What follows is a very fast paced battle between the three Helldams. The Soaring Helldam obviously focuses more on melee attacks, while the Atma Helldam works with a mix of melee and ranged. The two continually assault the Magister Helldam in tandem, confusing Kefka's defenses with quick dual-attacks and thwarting his offensive techniques. The battle quickly shifts into their favor as his suit starts taking visible damage.

And if there was music playing here, it would start to well up into a dramatic conclusion. The Atma Helldam launches an attack from behind, swooping down from the sky like an eagle, bringing the blue laser blade across the back of Kefka's suit, lobbing off one of its booster nacelles.

Seeing the moment wide open... Adell launches the Soaring Helldam into a dramatic acrobatic display... one that should frankly be impossible with how big the damn thing is, and then hangs in midair for a split second while his voice calls out:

"Blazing Soaring Hellfire!"Mirroring Adell's normal Soaring Fire attack, the mobile ( ... )

[Utterly engrossed, Terra forgets to nudge Adell awake or depart, as manners demanded. She watches all of the attacks with fascination, and the massive explosion causes her to jump. That voice makes her shiver, but she isn't so unnerved as to turn away. It's likely that she'll stay until this ends, however that comes about.]

[As Kefka's words echo through the radio, the Magister Helldam hovers back into the air without much of anything holding it together. A purple light engulfs it entirely from inside out, and it turns into a pillar of light that streaks skyward and far away ( ... )

[Terra brings up her knees and rests her chin there, staring with all due interest. She listened to the conversation with a small smile--it was thrilling to think of them teaming up like that, even if the dream had included Kefka and he seemed to break the rules of how things should work, yet again. Of course, it was dream logic and dream rules...she had no way of knowing if any of that had a basis or not.

A nagging feeling that she shouldn't let this go on too long begins to grow, but she is reluctant to disrupt the dream. So instead of shaking him, Terra finds her voice, keeping it soft and gentle.]

Adell...?

[Part of her can't help but wonder if hearing her voice might provoke something in the dream, too.]

[...The dream distorts in view for a moment, though it looks like it's fading to a credits screen. Then... it simply fades out]

[Adell stirs and his blue eyes flit open slowly. And he groggily looks over to her.]

Huh? ...Terra?

[Terra backs away abruptly, turning pink.]

...hi, Adell. I just--are you alright? Why did you fall asleep in the barracks?

[Deflecting? Maybe a little, but she's also a bit concerned.]

[...He scratches the back of his head idly. That stone wall wasn't exactly comfortable, but it's okay. He's still coming around, and he gives a yawn.]

Sat down to take a break... guess I nodded off. ...Didn't sleep well last night. One of those nights, you know?

[Terra nodded, sympathetic.]

I get those nights, too.

[She bites her lip, reluctantly saying the next part.]

...but you might want to be careful about where you fall asleep. Your dreams were showing.
