[Voice]

So, perhaps a bit of a random question, but I've been wondering... what sorts of music do people enjoy?  Genres, that kinda thing.  Just kinda curious, I guess.

Hey, Rydia, I have an idea I'd like to talk with you about, if you've got the time!

I believe Users call it Electronic...music. Techno?

Techno, huh? I think that's popular in some circles where I'm from too, but I've never listened to much of it.

What really goes into it, if you don't mind my asking?

[...And "Users?"... well, whatever.]

It is the use of...systems, programs to create music. Sampling, overlapping beats and symphonic harmoines...

It is difficult to describe. I'm not an mp3. They could explain it better.

...I see. [That's a very odd way of putting it, but it made some sense in a very weird way.]

But I didn't think mp3s could talk. I thought they were just the format music came in.

[At least, that's what it seemed like with Luka's mp3 player.]

Most people here don't seem to think programs can talk at all.

But we can, and we do.

I am one, actually.

Huh. Well, I guess that can make sense. Luka's technically an android, so she probably has a series of programs that result in her talking.

But what sort of program are you, if you don't mind my asking?

I am a Siren. A...support function for other Programs.

Support function? Like you perform necessary routines required to keep everything running smoothly? Or am I way off?

Not exactly.

We had games. I helped outfit and take care of those Programs.

I see. That's not quite what I expected, but I guess it makes sense. It's not unlike outfitting athletes for events, then?

Yes.

[It's a lie, but an easy one.]
