It's actually a pretty decent book, but I still can't wrap my head around why he didn't get the pills in the first place. He tried all these really stupid things like warm milk and whiskey and honeycombs and some weird painted eye necklace and this whole time I'm chanting in my head, "PILLS, PILLS, PILLS." Seriously, pills are the answer to everything.

Nah, my mom was here to babysit. I did for a little bit, though.

Some people refuse to take medication no matter what...
I'll never understand that...
It kills me when someone tells me they've had a headache for two days, and I ask them if they've taken anything, only to have them say, "No - I don't use that stuff."

You think that would've been written in, though. But pills weren't even mentioned until 126 when it's like he all of a sudden remembered that they existed. Which I guess isn't so unplausible for an idiot old man, but you think the 5832957298572 people that made idiotic suggestions would've also been like, "Oh and by the way, along with my eye of newt that I'm recommending you take, why not try some sleeping pills? My grandpappy swears by 'em!" I'm THISCLOSE to writing a strongly worded letter to Stephen King about this whole mess

Honestly. Over the counter stuff isn't that bad. It's not like anyone's suggesting that you take morphine for a stress headache...
