I took the octave strings off cause I'm awesome like that. ;) Now I just need some pliers to get 'em off all the way. And a book to learn how to play. Yeah, I'm thinkin' that might be helpful.

And I thought it was all in vain! So did my mom, actually. But see, I knew some day I'd get a guitar and all my violin string changing would proof to be helpful. Hooray!
Dunno, which way is easier? I was looking for places online but eeeeh, none of them really struck me as something I'd want to keep using. And for some reason I like the idea of a book better, but knowing my library there'll probably be a really crappy selection, so we shall see. Guess I could always buy a book, eh?

Tabs are WAY easier... They just show you a fingering *snickers* and call it "A", or "B", or whatever... ...and the music just tells you "A for this long, then B, then back to A..." and so on... It's not true note-reading, but a great into way to learn the positions... *more snickering* I never realized guitar terminology was so entertaining... XDDDD
And knowing how to play the violin helps when learning the piano and vice versa. It's basically the same thing, except piano is with keys and violin is with strings, obviously. I can even use my Hanson piano book for my violin, that is, if I could still remotely play my violin. I think my playing is pretty much reduced to Twinkle Twinkle Little Star by now.
Hahaha, you are such a perv. But yeah, that seems more my deal, cause that's what I did with my violin. I'd write the string letter and the number of fingers I had to hold down under each note. And I put little coloured stickers under the strings where I was supposed to put my fingers. My teacher called it cheating but I called it "Making things easier".
ALSO! When I eventually learn MMMBop on the guitar, I'm going to come to NC and teach you and then we'll get all our friends and sit in a circle and we can play it while everyone else sings. And this will pretty much happen with every song I learn, so there will be lots of circle sitting.
I did that with Stairway to Heaven once before a show with all the techies. Mr. Thompson, I learned, is a man of many talents. It was so fucking cool. xD
Well, since you don't actually know Mr. Thompson, it's obviouly not for the reasons I find it amusing. So, I guess it's just because you're a dirty little girl. :D
Cords for any musical instrument are confusing to me. Go above a C and I'm all "Buuuuh?"
I'm more like, "Am I supposed to play all the strings at once? Whaaaaa? DAMNIT." But at least the tabs are like string letter and then what fret cause that's how I played my violin. I'd write the string letter and the number of fingers I was supposed to hold down under each note so I wouldn't have to think as much. XD
