WoW is fun if you liked Everquest but it's improved and easier to get into. Doesn't have as harsh learning curve and easier to progress without skill.
City of Heroes is amazing to play for a good month - three months. I played it when it first came out and it was incredible. The character creation is amazing enough for the purchase. Then with City of Villians you can play two games for one subscription price. Playing super heroes and killing 10 guys in one fight by yourself is always fun. Especially when they knock into each other and such. Even better in groups and fighting about 25 guys. I loved it while it lasted. They just had a problem with nothing in the mid-high to end game when I played but I've heard they've added a tons of stuff. Like a big update every month.
Guild Wars - My ex Hayden was playing this when we last hung out a few weeks ago over break. It looks gorgeous and apparently you can play by yourself relatively well if you prefer that. He said there was no subscription fee either which I found surprising. It's a fantasy midevil game of course but they all have their little quirks that make them fun. And you can hire like 4 mercenaries at once and have yourself your own little group too! Didn't play this one first hand.
Those are all the MMORPGs I've been in contact with besides old Everquest. Feel free to ask questions if ya got them :).
