I had an excellent weekend. It all started out with an amazing show by Live at Sonar on Friday night. They played a ton of their old songs, including a bunch from Throwing Copper. The lead singers voice is still as perfect as it was 14 years ago. I went down with my old co-worker Michele and her friend Kristy. Brian met us down there. Afterwords, we headed to Padonia station where a bunch of meetin people were hanging out. The girls had one or two drinks, then we decided to head down to the Towson Diner at 1 am for a little breakfast with Dan. Ended breakfast with 2 giant chocolate chip cookies.
Saturday, I got a lot of work around the house done, including clearing about 10 years worth of lint from the dryer vent. I even took the leaf blower to the inside end of the vent to blast the remaining lint out. There must have been several pounds of lint sitting on the ground outside after I was done.
Katie and I went to see Forgetting Sarah Marshall Saturday afternoon down in Harbor East. (I wanted to see Iron Man, but it wasn't playing there for some reason). I will say I really enjoyed the movie. It has the girl who plays Veronica Mars in it as well as one of the girls from That 70's Show. Very funny movie.
Afterwords, we went to Roy's, a Hawaiian fusion restaurant. Apparently if you don't have a reservation for a Saturday night, you will basically not get a table. Luckily, they did have seats open at the bar and at the "Kitchen counter". We decided to sit at the Kitchen counter which was probably the best place in the restaurant to sit. We were able to watch the action in the kitchen all evening which made it feel like watching one of those new restaurant shows. It was pretty amazing to see all those people flying around the kitchen, producing so many plates every few minutes. Everyone knew exactly what they were supposed to be doing and it all just flowed perfectly. My only complaint is that they are a bit expensive, but they do appear to have a seasonal prix fix menu, which both of us got. If any of you end up going there, there are two things you must try. One is the Butter fish, which is basically Alaskan Cod, marinated for 3 days. It is melt in your mouth tasty. The second is the molten chocolate lava cake. Awesome.
Sunday, Katie and I wandered down to the Baltimore Farmers Market, and stuffed ourselves on cheese cups (my absolute favorite thing at the farmers market) and crepes. I have been waiting all winter for those cheese cups :)
I gave my Color Purple ticket to Katie since I had family obligations Sunday night. My dad's cousin's wife is one of 6 sisters, and last night was the first time in 36 years that all of the sisters were in the same place at the same time. As always, there was excellent traditional Indian food (the kind you just don't find in Indian restaurants).
Anyway, back to work :(
