crappy United

So I've decided that I don't like United. I know Kevin always likes to fly them, but I really liked flying on Southwest. Sure, there are no miles to earn, and no first class to get bumped up into. And sure, it can be a pain rusihing to get to the gate early to get a good spot in line, but I liked their planes. I feel like they actually take good care of their planes, doing maintenance before problems arise.

On United, you've got only a 75 percent chance the reading light will work. Your seat back is likely to recline on its own when you least expect it to. THe cloth seats will probably smell like someones sweaty feet. You have to pay 5 bucks for a snack box. Plus, I am certain that the coach seats have much less leg room than Southwest seats. I have long legs, and I am usually comfortable on Southwest planes. On United planes, I am in fear that if the person were to recline suddenly, I would loose my legs from above the knees.

Also, on Southwest, if I get there early, I have a chance at the exit row. On United, apparantly the exit row is its own "class" and you have to pay extra for that seat. Its sort of like the cheap business class. Since when is an exit row a class? That's just dumb.

Last night, I was supposed to get into Baltimore at 11pm. But the plane had three different maintenance issues at the gate in San Francisco, so we waited on the plane for about an hour for them to fix it.

Oh, and one other thing, I think it is pretty easy to earn free flights on Southwest, and it is even easier to use those free tickets.
