I think FedEx deliberately makes it as difficult as possible to retrieve your package. Of course, I know that I am also at fault for deciding to have something delivered to my house instead of to my office where I can sign for the thing. Basically, I saw on the tracking list that they attempted to deliver it today, but I wasn't home to sign for it (I seriously wonder how they deliver anything during the middle of the day). Fine, my fault. Now, I decide to call them up. Usually, with other shipping companies, such as USPS, I can pick up my package that evening when the truck comes in. I call FedEx to find out where the truck will be returning to, and how late I can come pick it up. First of all, they say that the truck does not infact return that evening, and the package will not be pulled off until the morning. Annoying.
Not only that, but the lady is 1. unable to tell me what the warehouse hours are, and 2. unable to give me a number to the warehouse so I can call to find out myself. I decide to act dumb and ask her the same question several more times until she gives up and gives me the required information. She finally puts me on hold, and comes back saying the warehouse hours are 8 to 5. So basically, those of us that are at work, and can't sign for the packages, are now screwed since it is unlikely we can get to the warehouse (which is located in the city near the Boston street exit) by 5pm. Not only that, but she still did not give me the phone number so I could actually call them myself.
Bah.
