Time's running

And it's running damn fast!! Wow, I can hardly believe my last journal update was almost 20 days ago...Anyway, what has been happening in the course of those 20 days?...Not much, I have to tell you. I've been going to college, studying, working on college projects, chatting a bit and playing some Metal Gear Solid 3: Snake Eater.

To start with the interesting stuff...Man, is Snake Eater a kickass fucking game!! I beat it yesterday afternoon, and really! What an intense few final hours those were! Although I probably should have played the game at Medium or Hard instead of Easy...I didn't want anything to do with Very Easy, since that's the difficulty setting I had selected when I first played MGS2, and it was almost boring because of how easy it was...Now I'm wondering if I should try Hard or skip it and try Extreme right now. Because I heard Extreme really was for the cream of the crop MGS players, which I don't think I actually am. But anyways...The graphics were super, the camouflage index thing was great, the bosses were pretty cool(except The Sorrow...what a bitch), the story was intriguing, and what an awesome god damn ending!! Lots of action, lots of sneaking around, so many options, so many animals to hunt and eat, and I can't believe how much stuff I didn't pick up around, after all the intensive exploring I did, it's unbelievable. The game truly deserves VT's Seal of Approval and a mark of 9.9/10, cuz the boss fight with The Sorrow was absolute shit. Go get it now if you haven't already done so.

On Saturday night, I had my second wrestling lesson. I now have to pay 10$ to have lessons, but we have our own room, my old elementary school's gymnasium. Plus, we're now 10 or so students, and a few more are supposed to add themselves to the list...so, we should be 15 or 20 when everyone's in. The practice was pretty cool. We did some bumps, just like last time, but we could already see some improvement, as most of us didn't get short of breath(or plain fucking choke) this time around. Then we started doing the more interesting stuff...We practiced elbow drops and leg drops(from the mat, not the third rope), then we did some lockup combinations. Lockup-headlock, lockup-reverse, lockup-armtwist, and my personal favorite, lockup-go behind-takedown-front face lock. We also hit some clotheslines. Héhéhé, a funny fact was that most of the new guys actually were thinner, or in some cases even shorter than me. I usually practiced my lockups with Nick, who is bigger than me, but I got paired up with one of the little guys for the clotheslines...and the first one I hit on him... Ouch is all I can say. My arm was still hurting from the impact when I got home after the practice. The guy was down and obviously pretty dizzy after the shot. I of course apologized for the slightly exaggerated strength I used, but hey...Can you blame me for hitting hard after always practicing with guys twice my size? The other clotheslines I gave were more reasonable, though. Then, we did bodyslams, and when you know the trick to those, you wonder just how heavy someone would have to be, cuz you can hit a bodyslam on a guy more than twice your weight pretty easily, if you got the technique right.

The cool thing about our ring(and maybe the fact we're a bunch of apprentices...or students, now) is that it just takes 30 minutes to put the ring in pieces, load it in a truck, and put the pieces back in Jo's shed after the practice. It's so damn convenient, the practice ends at 11, and we're already home before midnight. Do I have to mention my back and neck are still hurting today? Because they are. But it's not too bad, cuz yesterday, my back, neck, arms(mostly forearms), and my ass(yes, my ass...hitting a legdrop for the first time is pretty painful, mostly when you do it 5 times in a row) were in serious agonizing pain(almost).

Maybe the fact that I chatted with a very charming lady until 9:30 Sunday morning didn't help my physical recovery, though...but I did get to sleep until 4pm, when my parents got back from Montréal. And then, I get a call from a classmate who announces I have to be at his place by 7, since we got a politics work to do...I barely had time to finish Metal Gear and hurry to his place, with a car that's running so low on gas I'm wondering if I can make it back home afterwards.

I did get back home yesterday night, studied till 12:30 am, got up at 7 this morning, remembered I had NOT tanked the damn car...I went to my exam, and I saw an interesting thing: I'm the best student in my sociology class, so far in the session. And I got a good advance on the second best student. The exam took me 20 minutes, I tanked the car to its maximum capacity(that's 40$ outta my pockets...urgh, and Christmas is coming soon!!). That's about all there is to say...that, and my English teacher is way too demanding. I know I'll pass English, this is a certainty, but I'm wondering if I'll have an acceptable final mark. It really pisses me off, cuz I had 97% average in English last session. I'm wondering if I'll make 80% right now. Quite possibly my lowest grade this session will be in the class I usually perform the best in. Ironic, isn't it?
