(no subject)
It is almost the end of school. My kids are getting out on the 19th, I'm getting out the 16th. Yaaaahoooo!! A couple of days IN the house by MYSELF!! Yes, I do love my kids. Meanwhile, we had a hard frost 2 nights ago - go figure. I remember in Texas we got out in May. (now that I think about it - maybe it was because we might have died from the heat!)
Boy, when I was little I never had an inkling that my grown-up life would be spent in the north. During the winter it is very hard to live with the ice. Snow isn't so bad but the ice is awful. Days like today are the very reason I love it hear though. Driving my daughter to softball practice today, we came up over a hill and see this view that would be hard to catch photographically. Oh my gosh, it was magnificent. You can see the horizon and along the way so many hills and landscapes. I now know what "purple mountains majesty" means....they really do look purple. It was like a movie.
