He leaned against the port rail, watching the dawn, the sun not yet rising over the horizon.  A cool breeze came up and whispered through the pirate’s hair, dancing through the sails.  At the sound of those black sails flapping, he looked up and smiled at seeing the black material swell with the wind.

He returned his gaze to the sea and then, the sun rose over the water, the water sparkling with its rays.  He sighed in contentment, enjoying the sunrise for a moment more before he turned around to head to the helm.

As he grasped the spokes of the wheel, he looked out across the deck then at the surrounding ocean.  Jack says not all treasure is silver and gold.  He’s right, thought Captain Barbossa as eight bells rang and another day aboard the Black Pearl began.  True treasure … is freedom.
