Came up with this with my sister Dona. We were discussing a list of any actors/actresses we watched a movie/TV-series for that we wouldn't have watched otherwise. The rules are simple. The person can't be someone you might watch a movie for because that's an "if". It has to be someone you have actually done this for already. The film/s has to be something you really probably wouldn't have watched. Obviously, if you only watch movies because the movie itself seems interesting then you're going to come up blank. This is to credit an actor/actress with the benefit of the doubt that their presence means the movie might be worth watching even if it doesn't seem to be. You post the name first, the movie title, and then score them with the following notation. [+] means the movie was surprisingly good and your risk was worth it. [+]* means that it was good specifically because of their character. [-] means the film was disappointing and you smacked yourself for watching it. [-]* means the film was bad because of their character. [=] means the film was okay or you'd had a neutral reaction.

The only tricky thing is calling yourself on whether you would have watched the movie otherwise. If you would have... it doesn't work. I came to realize in this that a lot of my favourite actors and actresses tend to be in things I would have or wouldn't have watched anyway. Thus, Thora Birch and Johnny Depp are unexpectedly not in my list.
