I have been messing around with my guitar more and more often lately. I never got very good at it because I couldn't force myself to practice the same stuff repeatedly until I could do it well, but every once in a while I just get an itch to mess around on it. Lately I have been working on the slow solo from Metallica's Master of Puppets. That is probably my favorite song in existence. I have listened to it so much that *I* actually know every bit of it by heart, and with my shitty memory that says a lot.

Anyway, I think I am going to take up running. Because I have no job still, I have a lot of free time that I've been burying into World of Warcraft. It's enjoyable, and I like the game a lot, but I am too afraid to get back into the same addiction I experienced with Everquest. Some might argue that I am already addicted to it (if you see the time I've spent so far you probably would too), and I wouldn't argue it with them too much, but unlike with EQ I can easily pull myself away from this to spend time with my parents, or with my friends, or read a book or just watch a movie. A friend I talk to online doesn't understand how I can spend so much time on it, and tells me to get a hobby; however, this is probably about the most inexpensive hobby I could take up.

Were I to spend only 30 hours a week playing, and believe me that is a generously low number, at 4 weeks a month that comes to 120 hours. With an initial purchasing fee of, say, $55 and a monthly cost of, say, $15, that comes out to $235 for the first year, and $180 for following years barring an expansion. So for year 1, that is less than $20 a month and around 17 cents an hour. Find that kind of deal on any other hobby and I would be surprised to see it.

That's about it for now, time to go make some food.
