Sitting for CIPP/IT today - wish me luck!

I've been in Boston since Tuesday night (well not to my hotel until Wed am), taking class for my Certified Information Privacy Professional certification with an IT subspeciality - CIPP/IT for short. I've been a member of the International Association of Privacy Professionals since 2001 (when it was still the IAPO for Officers) while doing security & privacy compliance monitoring for Costco. But I never got around to taking the exam. Now they have several specialties - regular, Government, Canadian, IT, etc. So I decided to take a stab at the IT cert.

Wed I took the 5-hour class on the "Foundations" exam, which pretty much mirrored the material in the primary book. However, I did not sign up for the IT class, as there was a pre-conference I thought I should attend for work. In hindsight, I should have signed up for both so I could at least have picked up the materials for the IT class. But by the time I thought of that, I was here, and they didn't have any extras. :-( Oh well, hopefully my years of IT Security experience are plenty to get through a two hour multiple guess exam. (Which was my original thought.)

Anyway, woke up to the most fabulously blue skies today. Too bad I'll be inside until way late. Probably past sunset. I hope I get half as good weather tomorrow, as I'm staying to do some sight-seeing. I think I'll ride the Duck. It apparently drives about downtown and then goes into the Charles River. Although we have the Duck in Seattle, I've never taken it. So that should be an adventure!

Wish me luck with my exams!
