Thanks for checking :) I appreciate it.

Yeah, I was surprised too. Like you, I would've expected it to be Arai. Or Mikimaro - the woman who wrote the original novels quite openly says she likes Mikimaro the best because he's 'cute' and Sakaguchi Daisuke always got a lot of screams and so on.

But...on reflection...I think that it's probably because of the way the PLUS manga and the novels portray him as this guy who's fighting desperately to live his own life outside of his father's shadow. I s'pect a lot of people felt for him, possibly. And maybe, considering the high pressure of Japanese schooling and so on, perhaps they identified with him too. I expect he wasn't always the favourite, but he became the favourite the more that plot went on. Just a guess, but there you go.

I think Arai was second favourite at that point but I don't rightly remember for sure.

Personally I like the Arai/Nakamoto friendship so either is good with me.

As regards the doll, it's possible (horror) that he wasn't released at all. Nakamoto's was the last Call from M CD to be released, after all...it may be that for some reason he never did get sold. I sincerely hope it's not the case, but they seem obscure enough to suggest they weren't ever sold in huge swathes.

Mikimaro exists, though, even if he's not in the pamphlet. So I remain hopeful. Nakamoto is definitely drawn on the back of Arai's box, and if he *was* the favourite at that time, I can't imagine him being overlooked.

Guess time will tell.

Fear not, Nakamoto does exist ! According to Wonderfarm's website, he was released in September 1998 (4th in the line).
And lookie what a little Google search gave me (scroll down to the bottom of the page):

Is it me or are his glasses totally oversized? :o
And Mikimaro looks like a girl too. Oh that hair....XD

Ahh! *squee!* But Nakamoto's glasses *are* oversized!! That's half the love...hehehe :D

One complaint though. His eyes look brown to me...^_^.

Takagi's obviously been to the salon before that was taken. Much better than the birdsnest do that auction one had going on *hehe*.

Yuusuke actually looks reasonable in that pic too.

Mikimaro always looks like a middle school girl. :S It's just part of his, er...charm?

Thanks so much for finding it. I googled and had no luck - you obviously have magic fingers :D

By the way, Midorin mentions the dolls on the History of EMU vhs...so I guess it makes sense that they were all sold.

I will continue to search hopefully *hehe* :)

Oh to have Nakamoto, Takagi and Arai loose among my Jem dolls...ahem :P I can just imagine what Takagi'd look like in some of the Jem wear...*hehe*

Thanks again :D
