I have been getting increasingly fed up doing and re-doing all the housework, whilst my two children sat back and watched. Yes, they do bits and pieces but yesterday, enough was enough. They were going to pitch in properly.
I kept them busy all morning cleaning this, vacuuming that. I realised how quickly we got through it all working as a team. I decided that from now on, each child would have a key area of responsibility to take care of.
My daughter's speciality is cooking soup & beans in the microwave with no cover on. Every time she uses it, it ends up in a hell of a state. She is now designated microwave cleaner. Her other trick is slopping things in the fridge.. so now she has the job of keeping the fridge immaculate too.
My son is a rotten shot in the bathroom, if you get my meaning. I am so sick of having to clean the loo after he visits...so his key area of responsibility is.. the bathroom. Believe you me, he will learn to be cleaner if he keeps getting hauled off Warcraft to don the rubber gloves and scrub.
I am an evil mother sometimes!
