Aside from being a great freaking movie, the new Harry Potter movie is the most beautifully shot film that I've seen all year. With the dark overtones that is coming out, because they are growing up, Alfonso Cuaron directed one hell of a film that captures the the essence of the story wholeheartedly. He incorporated alot of wide angle lenses to give the story and visuals more scope. There is so much going on visually in terms of story and aesthetics that it's hard not to be in awe of his vision of the story. Michael Seresin, the director of photography, is gonna be getting an Oscar nomination for sure, I really can't see him not getting one. The movie is so stark and lush, it is hard not to be captured by it visually. At points where the CGI and real footage meet, it makes it look like you were watching one a realistic graphic novel. Go see it.
Anyways, I finished my scene by scene overview of my screenplay and will go into writing a rough draft tonight. I should have act 1 done tonight, if not early tomorrow and go headlong for the whole weekend to try to make the rest of my week till class easier.
Christine's Art Reception is Saturday. If anyone is interested it is this Saturday, June 05, 2004 at Bergamont Station Arts Center in Santa Monica. Basically just go west on the 10 freeway from the 405, exit Cloverfield, make a right, then make another right at the first lighted intersection (Michigan Ave), and go all the way down the street. You'll pass through black gates and the space is T-6. It'll have several different artists so it should be fun. The reception is from 5:00pm - 9:00pm with the exhibit last through July 3. Phone number to the gallery is 310.453.4334.
I'm a bit tired. It's starting to get humid here in So. Calif. My stomach is rumblen and stumblen.
My top 5 albums of all time in no particular order:
