first, an update of friday night- out to dinner at this amazing sushi place in the village, up to rockafeller center to see the giant christmas tree, opened my present in the cafe next to the ice rink: the handpainted box turned out to be a very realistic handmade VCR (to stand in for the real VCR that's on its way so that we can all watch the great movies we all talk about but can't watch because nobody has a VCR). inside the VCR, wrapped up like a tape, was the 2nd harry potter book, since i'd mentioned over a month ago that my copy had been stolen and therefore my collection was incomplete. inside the book were two tickets to beauty and the beast. i still can't believe it all. the show was SO GOOD! donny osmond was out, but his understudy was great and john tartaglia was hilarious. after the show, susan and vishnu (friends of ours that were out on a date of their own and knew about the big surprise) surprised us by meeting us after the show, and the four of us went back up to rockafeller center and matt took me under the christmas tree and told me he loved me for the first time :) again, i still can't believe it all. we ended the night with a spontaneous horse-drawn carriage ride around the city. it was the perfect end to a perfect night. my boyfriend is amazing!

the next day, matt and i went back to his apartment to decorate his christmas tree with his brother (there are pictures on facebook). his family is amazing. i can't get over how nice they are. i'm staying with them when i head back to the east coast before school starts.

i'm back home now, and i'm here til the 11th. it's weird to be back here, mostly because my mom missed me so much that she's absolutely in love with me and i can do no wrong. she hasn't yelled at me once, and it looks like she's not going to at all. it's kinda creepy, but nice. it's nice to take a shower without sandals and with really hot water and good pressure. it's even better to eat in n out and real mexican food. i've been sleeping til 2pm, which is wonderful, and yesterday i got to see a few lvhs lovelies randomly. i miss the east coast already though. i miss matt, and i miss my friends. it's strange how dark it is- i'm used to the bright lights of the city, i guess. christmas snuck up on me- it's practically here already. merry christmas to everyone out in lj-land!
