Looking for Scraps

Where can one buy leather scraps? I'm trying to improve my browncoat costume from last year, and I need leather for a better pair of goggles. I just don't think stores like Michaels or Joann's Fabrics would carry leather squares. I don't need very much and don't want to spend the money on something made of leather to rip out the pieces I need. I just can't think of where else to look. Granted I haven't gone looking at these stores yet, but I think I was looking a bit last year when I made them and didn't have much luck. Any thoughts would be appreciated.

I probably should mention that I'm looking for thick leather. Not something thin like gets put on furniture. Thick stuff...
