I mentioned that my Grandma turned 100 a few weeks ago, right? Yep, sho nuff. Relatives came to the celebration in Tennessee from as far away as L.A. and Spain, and everywhere in between. Even a historian from the area where my Grandma grew up (Langley, B.C.) came out to visit. They've been pen-pals for about 12 years now, but this was the first time they met in person. He brought greetings from the mayors of Langley, the Governor-General of Canada, and Queen Elizabeth. The cards from Willard Scott and President Obama showed up a bit later. Anyways,
here's an article from the local paper up there, talking about her life.
My favorite part: "The secret to living so long is “don’t die,” she teases as she spoke to The Times on Monday." Yep, that's my Grandma alright...
Also,
here's a video of the song my sister sang to Grandma at the party. Never posted a video to youtube before. Not sure how long it takes to process. Sheesh, I hope I don't regret uploading that :)
