I'm at camp. Overall it's amazing, but the barn is stressful as usual. There aren't enough horses because they tend to either be staff only or have really bad heaves. I have two favorites, Sunny (Sonny?) a bay thoroughbred (?) who was supposedly a show horse who was abused in the ring and now can't be used in the arena. I was going to work with him, but then the summer season started and I don't have any time. He used to be wonderful on trail but then a co-worker and I took him out to Bush on a trail ride and he freaked out about being tied up with only one other horse and now anytime I try to ride him he starts rearing. Yay fun. But JJ is back and to help out a bit and is going to work with him this weekend. Yay fun! The other is Fox, a bay Arab with a question mark on his face. He's cute but bony. He was neglected, but doesn't seem to have any related behavior issues. Sometimes his transitions are bucky, but his canter is amazing and his trot a bit bouncy and fast, but I've gotten a nice slow one out of him. His only problem is that he hates to stand still and will prance and circle, but nothing major.

We just got a new horse that looks like a dinosaur (she's a percheron) with a very thick neck. I was thinking about how ugly she is when the leaser said her name is Pretty Girl. All my campers think she's pretty though, so I dunno. This is my first break in two weeks and I'm excited. Due to rain we couldn't ride this evening so the campers are playing the all-camp game and I'm taking a break. Woot!
