Unfortunately (because I'm in the middle of a rewatch of this show with my friends, and thus am very tempted by this) I can't participate because I have other things to do, but I do have ideas. I hope it is okay to dump them here even though I'm not joining the bb?

- I really, really wish there were more Doctor fics. There aren't many, and although he got some great episodes, I feel that the show never really explored the full possibility inherent in the character concept. Mostly he got "more human" (of course that's a Star Trek /thing/) but I'd like to see the other direction: he's immortal, infinitely changeable (he could reprogram his personality, but then would he still be the same person?), he could look like anyone or anything (for example he could probably program himself to be essentially a shapeshifter), he could change his gender or species (and probably doesn't have a sexual identity in his base programming), he could link himself to all sorts of technology - the show already hinted at this, but holograms are probably one of the most powerful technological inventions in the Star Trek universe, and Federation society probably has the same sort of problem with this that they have with genetically engineered people. This could be a fun story, taking the possibilities and the wonder and running with it, but it could also lend itself to dark AUs like, what if Janeway decided that letting the Doctor develop so far beyond his programming was too dangerous (and again, the show did hint that holograms would become one of the big social issues in the near future, but it didn't really go all the way) or what if there was a trial like Data's in "Measure of a Man" and the Doctor lost?

- A mirrorverse story! What a wasted opportunity to show everyone being evil and wearing goatees.

- A story in which Seven takes the whole "the Voyager is my collective now" thing to its logical conclusion and slowly begins to assimilate everyone, with ensuing telepathy shenanigans

- An AU in which they never go to the Delta quadrant, and instead what brings them all together is the Dominion War (like maybe the Voyager's top secret mission isn't to hunt the maquis, but to sabotage Dominion activities, and for this they recruit Chakotay, B'eleanna and Tom, or they all meet in a Dominion prison colony like in that two parter in DS9, or the Federation loses the war and they meet as resistance fighters)

- In addition to using Tuvok as a spy, Starfleet recruits Tom Paris and sends him undercover to Chakotay, probably with disastrous/hilarious results (if you want to bring the rest of the crew into this fic, maybe at some point Chakotay's crew manages to capture some Starfleet officers, and then Tuvok is torn between his loyality to Janeway and the success of the mission, or Chakotay and Janeway discover they're not so bad but their love can never be etc., or Harry Kim desperately tries not to be impressed by the maquis and Tom's rake-ish charme, or whatever)
