The final stretch

I really only have one more day of sewing left, because I'll be at the theater starting Monday, and the kids are starting to wear their costumes.

I have sort of lost count at this point. Things keep getting added at the last minute or changed around.

One of the best looking pieces, Juliet's nurse, is going to look awful becuase the tiny actress it was made for bailed out of the production and the busty, taller and larger girl replacing her doesn't fit into the skirt w/o me opening up seams (and this is one of MY pieces, not one I've made for the school.

Juilet's costume is now on the girl playing Kate from "taming of the shrew" (a good thing becuase Juliet was swimming in it, and it fits this girl very nicely)  - but I have to raise the hem. I built Juliet a new costume today, and it came out very nice, if I do say so myself, but it required a trip back to the fabric store, when they WEREN'T having a big sale, so I spent more money than I'd have liked on it. I also picked up additional muslin (since I keep running out) so I can line the last few doublets I have to make.

The kids were all confused about all the sleeve parts, and lacing, and I have to put waistbands into a couple of pants because they are slipping down, and I won't have time to put a codpiece on one of the boys, and all the girls were complaining that they could "see his junk" through the spandex and his underpants.

I have an entire trunk full of costumes (and I have a BIG honking trunk). A few of them are borrowed from other places, and I have hemming to do on one of those, too.

I think I have 5 - 8 more to do or to make bits of, and then I'm done. It's going to be tough, because I haven't reaally made more than 3 doublets in one day.

Man I am tired
