There are other things I'd like to do besides sit at the computer all day at work, and then sit at the sewing machine all night at home.
I think I have 5 or 6 more blousy shirts to construct (got 5 done last night), and then I have to construct doublets for all these outfits. The shirts seem to take about 1 hour each, between ironing and sewing (they were all cut out over the weekend by my volunteers). At least my machine is purring along beautifully, and I'm getting better at the various features - I'm really good at one of the blind hem stitches now.
The first batch of fittings went well. I think I will take one of the mom's up on the hand-sewing and give her all the pieces with the hems that need doing.
I am not sure I could get all these costumes done if I took off work completely between now and the performance. But in a few weeks, there WILL be photos - I've decided that's my "payment" for all this work. I have to remember to invoice the school for the cost of the materials - We actually have a budget for costumes
And now, back to proposal hell (whose deadline is within a day of the costume deadline, of course)..
