If you haven't yet...

Harry Potter! I never would have read them if 1) My dad hadn't liked them 2) I hadn't seen the movies & 3) my computer died one summer & I needed to amuse myself. I re-read it again not that long ago. Like last month.

I'm going to start re-reading the Wheel of Time series since I never finished it & don't remember most of it. Although, Legend of the Seeker has me thinking about reading Sword of Truth again (of which I haven't finished the last book).

If you're looking for funny fantasy books there's the MYTH series (http://tinyurl.com/6zynfs) by Robert Asprin & XANTH by Piers Anthony. They're both old, but still good. The myth books are around 200 pages each but they now sell several in one large volume. If you want a short read to carry around with you I'd go with the smaller size.

There's also a good series by Jennifer Roberson about a bunch of shapechangers: http://tinyurl.com/cheysuli The first book is so-so but after that the story is much better. Again this is probably an older series that I discovered recently.

Those are the ones I've read lately worth recommending. Of course I've read more but I didn't like the books. Then again, if you enjoy books where the main character is mean in a good way check out the Innocent Mage series. (I think there are 2 books.) I rate it as decent. By "mean in a good way" I actually like Asher & he says things to people which might be considered mean otherwise. I can't quite think of how to describe it right now.

The Innocent Mage author also writes The Godspeaker Trilogy - which I'd only read if you REALLY want to read a book that makes you want to murder the heroine. Hekat is a total bitch IMO. I only read the first book of Godspeaker because of that. And while the second book doesn't appear to have Hekat in it, that book was a total turn-off on the series for me.

I think that's enough eh? :)
