Well, we packed up
serendipity_1's kids yesterday and put them on a bus back to Texas. Of course, now I really miss them. :( While having two teenagers in the house is stressful at times, they were helpful and fun to be with. Maybe for Christmas vacation or something... Although I will say that I am looking forward to the weekend, with no one around but me, James and Elizabeth. I envision lots of snuggles, popcorn, and movies this weekend.
I didn't get all the knitting/sewing done that I wanted... I didn't finish the strap for the felted bag, so I guess that goes top on my list of knitted projects to finish. And I only finished one of the ribbon belts (the one that is lime green with fuschia dots on one side and white, lime green and pink stripes on the other side) and one of the pairs of pants (an interesting cotton print that has various shades of blue, lime green, lavender and fuschia in large interlocking squares). I have the lime green rayon pants cut out and partially sewed, but they require more finishing than the cotton ones do. And the second ribbon belt (black on one side, black with white dots on the other) is pinned together. I also have a couple of pairs of pj's cut out for Elizabeth... they are really easy to whip up, and will use up a lot of the cotton stash that I have had for years now... some from various costumes I made for Shattered Isles - although it kind of makes me giggle to see Elizabeth dressed in pj's made from the same fabric as Jewel's favourite skirt, and Sirkka's bodice that I lost in the woods at Falls Creek Falls...
I also made my first 'placemat' purse... where you just fold the placemat in half, add a couple of darts to make a square bottom, and a handle. It turned out quite cute. I like it. :) Of course, you really need pretty placemats to accomplish this. :D
