About my LJ

I've decided that I'm going to change my LiveJournal a little bit. I've discovered over the past few months that journalling has been very theraputic for me, and I'd like to continue doing it. But I'm going to do it in a way that is beneficial to me. What that means, is that there may be things in here that bore you (as a reader) to tears, or that you don't particularly care about, or that you'd choose to ignore, if it would just stop taking up space on your page when you look at your flist. I suppose I should apologise for that, under some kind of LJ etiquette, but I'm not going to, because, hey, this is -my- LJ, and you don't have to read it if you don't want to. That's the amazing thing about flists. :) I may occassionally have long posts, or pictures, and I might not always stick them behind a cut. Sometimes it's because I'm in a hurry and just want to get a few things down, and sometimes it's because I don't really give a rat's ass to how convenient it is for someone else to be reading in my space. :) I also refuse to make a bazillion different journals for every different topic I may discuss. I have trouble enough with this one. I will tag entries (if I remember), but when my journalling starts taking the backseat to trying to make everyone who might possibly stumble across it happy, it becomes less theraputic, and more of a chore. I prefer the former (and will not be offended if you remove me from your flist... I know some people don't like a lot of crap they aren't interested in flowing over their screen). I will intersperse talking about craft projects with rants about work and in-laws, and the growing displeasure with my job and how I feel trapped in it for now, and mourning the fact I can never have another child, and enthusiasm for my new house and all it entails. I will spell things with Canadian spellings, and use the word 'fuck' if I feel like it. And I may comment on religion, politics, and my views on the state of the world in general.

So. That said. Some things I will be talking about in the near future. :)

* I recently read an article in one of my crafting magazines about a woman who is in the process of making a scrapbook filled with pictures of the 100 things she wanted to do in life before she died. She has quite a few of them done. I'm sure I had a list like this at some point, and I've probably accomplished several things on it, although I couldn't tell you for sure if this is the case. So I've decided to come up with a new list of "100 things I want to accomplish in life" and start keeping track of them, so I have some goals. And stuff. There will be no particular order to these.

* Things that I want to remember from my childhood. I don't have a lot of pictures, and I fear losing the memories that I -do- have.

* Interesting patterns and other craft ideas I find online... this is as good a way as any to track that sort of thing.

* Memes that I think are amusing.

* Anything else that catches my fancy (ooooooh, shiny.....)
