I was abducted by an alien...
Ok so I wasn't really "abducted"... I went willingly. And it's not a space alien, but he is from Switzerland. This would be my friend, Paul. We've been hanging out a lot lately so he's been keeping me busy and away from the computer. He's actually 1/2 Swiss and 1/2 Phillipino. He says "Swissipino" I just call him "Phillis" (I like my combo better). It's funny because everyone thinks he is Mexican and when he tells them he's Swiss he gets the strangest looks.
I went to St. Augustine this past weekend with my mom. It was fun. It rained part of it so no beach action. We did go and see Madagascar (excellent flick) and I went out on Friday and Saturday nights to a local karaoke dive. Made some new friends and had a wonderful time. I'm hoping to get back up there on the 18th-20th. I'm not sure if I mentioned it before... my stepdad is working up there right now and his company has a condo on the beach so it's a free place to stay. The job will be done at the end of the month so I'll only get one more freebie weekend.
I'm starting a new job in a few weeks (just one day a week for now). It's with a pediatric home health agency. I have to get a physical done and the earliest I can be seen is July 11th, so I'll be starting after that. I have to do 40 hours at a group home before I'm given home visits. That way I'll be with another nurse so she can help me with things I've never done before (ventilators for example) and I'll get to see if it's something I can handle. I'm kind of nervous but I'm looking forward to it. If it works out and I like it, I might go on fulltime and just fill in occassionally at my present job. We shall see I guess.
Nothing else to report. Seems like forever since I've been on here. I need to get caught up on all your LJ lives now...
