No Spoilers, I Promise

We returned home yesterday afternoon around 4:30 to discover our Harry Potter books on our doorstep. It's been a very quiet 21 hours around here. No television. No talking. Just the two of us slamming through the book, with some sleep and food in between.

I haven't read that fast since high school, I'm pretty sure. And thanks to the speed reading course we took last year, Jay's been keeping up with me and outpacing me many times, as he uses his hand as a regulator when he reads. I just can't whiz through stuff without a regulator, and I don't have the patience to do it. I had an extra hour of reading on him while he washed his car yesterday, so I just wrapped up the book about 20 minutes ago.

He's got sixty pages left, and we have to leave in about thirty minutes (forty-five max) to drop him off at the airport. He was frustrated, eating lunch downstairs, complaining that he wanted to finish the book while he was here so we could talk about it on the way to the airport. "Well what are you doing just eating then? Read and eat! That's what I do..." So he rushed to grab his book and continue reading as he eats. Craziness.
