Sticky, Confused and $400 Lighter...

I have found the ultimate saleswoman.

Sick of going to places like Kohl's and finding nothing to wear for work, I finally went to Macy's at Southpark today. I decided I might as well suck it up and do the department store thing.

After wandering around aimlessly for an hour I approached a register with three shirts and a pair of slacks. The short woman behind the counter looked at my slacks critically. "Hmm, hold on one second, let me go check something..." She goes to a different rack and returns with a different pair, "I think these will look better on you, and they're 75% off. Have you tried these on?"

No one was behind me, so she continued. She said, "Do you have a few minutes?" I said, "Sure!"

Before I knew it, she was leading me to the dressing room with twelve new hangers full of clothes! And while I was in there, she kept coming in with things for me to try on. "Okay now try this on with those black checked pants over there."

And it all worked!

It's my dream, someone who helps me spend my hard earned money on nice looking clothes. I just kept trying things on and turning a few things down, and following her from rack to rack as she'd pull something out.

This woman knew her inventory inside and out. "Oh there's a sweater that would look great with that! Hold on I'll be right back!" and she'd zip halfway across the floor, only to return with yeah, the perfect sweater. And it was always on sale.

My four items blossomed to twenty, finally. And I opened a new charge account, so I'm getting 20% off everything, taken off my bill when it comes. She even estimated that and put it on my receipt. I did spend about $376, and in the end with the additional discounts that will show up on the bill, it will be $304.

But I have something like four new work suits, a slew of other pants, new shirts, and instructions on what to pair with what. Her name is Lu-Anne. I think I need to find out what her work schedule is and only go shopping on days that she's there. I'm so excited. Finally someone who can help me dress myself. And just in the nick of time!
