I can explain. But, as I said, first, are you safe? Somewhere in shelter at least? Just to be sure.

Basically, yes. There might be some you know from home. But also people from other places. For example, I am from a country called Amestris. And there are others from elsewhere too--Japan, Soul Society, all over. Even different parallels, in some cases.

I'm outside, um... There's a fire station over there? I can't see anything dangerous, but I'm used to fighting so don't worry too much. Where is safe?

I've never heard of most of those countries. Soul society? The only one that's familiar is Japan, and Japan is... Nobody lives there anymore. I don't think I understand this at all.

Shelter in general is good. At least you weren't thrown in the deep end at the Wastelands. And a firestation will be a good reference point for whoever comes to find you. Have you talked to anyone else from home that is coming for you yet?

It takes a while to adjust and let it sink in, but everything I said in that guide is true, I'm afraid.

Oh, that's goo--you know Allen? Ah, well that's great. He's definately going to be glad to have more friends here with him.

But, ah, he's....well, this place, like I said, has some odd things happen every so often and Allen is affected at present. I think it will wear off soon though.

Sure, it's no problem. I do what I can, even if I'm not really able to fight or help much otherwise.

I see. I've talked to him a few times, and he helped me out recently too. He's...well, currently turned into an animal. So, don't be too afraid when he comes to get you, okay?

I mean, just...with everything here it's often ended up resorting to defending ourselves, where I'm not as much use so putting that up was the least I could do.

If there are that many new people arriving here, then I'm sure that saved a lot of people a lot of trouble. Fighting isn't everything, even when you're able to fight you're not always able to save everyone. You may say that being able to fight makes us more 'useful', but being able to fight is nothing without having someone to support you, someone to fight for. If there are people that want to protect you, they won't care about things like 'useful'. You have no idea how much it means, just to have someone to come home to.

I guess. I hadn't thought on it that much, but...I know I couldn't tell how it would be from first hand, but to some extent at least, you're right.

[Has met up with leopard Allen by this point] ...I see everyone was understating the 'cat' thing.

They may not even realise themselves how much it means. But having someone to return to is the most wonderful feeling, it keeps you going when you might otherwise fall down. Don't ever underestimate how much that is worth.
