Have you ever slept on a houseboat? I did. First view of the morning:
What's that giant fluffy thing in the back?
Scenes being put together for the next exhibition.
Outdoor scene in progress.
A cascade of cute fluffy animals.
Big multiple scenes display.
The artist Julia, and the Golden Girl.
I did. And it was fun. Visit
http://www.maomaland.com/ to know more about it.
Have you ever visited the
Amsterdam School of the Arts? I did. We got a complete tour with guide and comments, unrestricted view of Amsterdam, and access to secret rooms of
The Theatre School thanks to a friend of the Golden Girl. We had seen a modern dance show there on saturday night, and it was great to see the Dutch version of the tv show Fame happening in front of my eyes.
We also had a peek at the
Netherlands Film and Television Academy (NFTA), and I've never been so jealous of people in a school before. The building is amazing, amazingly huge also. They have their private movie theatre, several studios, and I couldn't even count the number of editing rooms in the place (editing, special effects, sound design and mixing...). And just for fun they also have a cafeteria that opens on a private terrace. Ole! No wonder students walk in corridors whistling there. Compared to that place, the film school I went to looks like the Lumière brothers trying to make a movie in their basement.
There was a time now very far away
When we set up together she and I
A way of life then if not quite the best
That time's long past but what would I not give
To see that whore house where we used to live
I did. And I never thought I would see what's for clients eyes only.
I saw that and much more, most of the time biking around on a rented yellow bike, that advertises you as a tourist a lot better than not speaking dutch. On that good note...
