PC OF POWER!!!!!!!111

After 2 days, PC World finally finished doing stuff to our computer. They discovered it was riddled with viruses which Norton had totally failed to detect, possibly due to Norton itself being one of the infected programs. I have no idea where the viruses came from (apart from Teh Internets, obviously) but they seem to have targeted The Sims 2 for some reason. I had to reinstall Sims Bon Voyage expansion but the rest of it still works, except they refuse to smustle dance now. But with extra memory and graphics power under the bonnet, everything runs purringly, gone is the jerkiness that there used to be. Flight Simulator is also zipping along nicely now, with all the dials turned up to 11 for graphics settings. The only thing I don't quite understand is the computer keeps claiming to have detected new hardware every time it's turned on - something called "multimedia controller" which it wants drivers for, but I have no idea what this thing is. It seems to run OK without it so far. It keeps bringing up an annoying Wizard which does not have a tick box for "don't show me this ever, ever, ever again"  and demands searches for drivers which of course it can't find because it doesn't know what it's looking for and neither do I. However, other than being irritating on startup it does not seem to be a problem. "Multimedia Controller" sounds like a computer hardware version of one of those jobs that have no obvious function, like Resources Facilitator or Personnel Executive or other such B Ark positions.
