Here's the Holidays...right down your THROAT!
Don't get me wrong...I'm not TOTALLY against the holidays. I'm just tired of the bullshit that goes along with the season. Hopefully, if you're reading this entry, you have a solid head between your shoulders, and are intellegent to get to the bottom of what I'm writing here...You know what the BS is...diving deep into debt for no real reason (other than "you have to buy gifts" reason...which isn't a strong rationale), busting ass and not truly taking the time to enjoy the season...fights for $29 DVD players...
You get the point.
I HATE commercialism!
Why don't we all celebrate the true reason this time of year is here? And don't try to feed me this crap about how you read the Christmas story. Again, not what I'm talking about. Take time over the vacation to look back on the past year. Look around...think about what you have gained over the 12 months...possibly what you have lost. Forget if you have or have not under the big tree...pull the family, friends, coworkers, dog, picture of people...whatever it may be...close to you and be thankful you have them. I'm thankful for many things...my father, for one, is still alive after an 8 day coma. Plus, it's been a very prosperous year for me...I have accomplished many things, seen many places, and met some incredible people. We're not doing much in material things this year in my family...the good Lord has given us the best gifts already.
